Spence Farm Gardening Workshop

Posted on Mar 16th, 2010 •

Spring is in the air and gardens are beginning to sprout. Spence Farm, located in Fairbury, Illinois, wants to teach you how to get your garden started. All are encouraged to visit the farm on Saturday, April 10 at 2 p.m. for a workshop that will teach all the basics of gardening 101.

The workshop will demonstrate how to start seeds indoors and when to plant outside. Attendees will learn what tools to use, where to get seed, how to cope with pests and much more. All guests will be given an heirloom tomato plant to take home.

All ages are welcome and the cost is just $5 per person to attend. Proceeds benefit the Spence Farm Foundation, a not-for-profit educational organization that strives to spread art, history and sustainable small farming across the country.
